Title

IDL Data Structure for Gridded data

Author

R.J.Barnes

Summary

A description of the IDL data structure used to store gridded data.

Description

1. Introduction

Gridded SuperDARN data consists of median filtered, geo-magnetically located ionospheric scatter, fitted to an equi-area grid. Within IDL three structures are used to store the gridded data.

2. Grid parameters data structure GridPrm

prm={GridPrm, stme: $
         {GridTime,yr:0, $ ; start year
                   mo:0, $ ; start month
                   dy:0, $ ; start day
                   hr:0, $ ; start hour
                   mt:0, $ ; start minute
                   sc:0D}, $ ; start second
         etme: $
         {GridTime,yr:0, $ ; end year
                   mo:0, $ ; end month
                   dy:0, $ ; end day
                   hr:0, $ ; end hour
                   mt:0, $ ; end minute
                   sc:0D}, $ ; end second
stnum: 0L, $ ; number of contributing stations
         vcnum: 0L, $ ; number of vectors
